- Visit the infamous Hetch Hetchy Valley, a reservoir where the O'Shaughnessy Dam was built back in 1913 to supply the San Francisco Bay Area with water. John Muir referred to it as the ‘Second Yosemite Valley’ thanks to its wonderful vistas and waterfalls. The scenic and windy road to Hetch Hetchy Valley is spectacular but requires a high concentration due to the deep and narrow roads to get in and out of this steep canyons. - Explore Yosemite Valley natural wonders including waterfalls, hanging cliffs and granite summits such as Half Dome and El Capitan. The valley is divided into two banks by the famous Merced River and a multitude of streams and waterfalls including Tenaya, Illilouette, Yosemite and Bridalveil Creeks. Yosemite Falls is the highest waterfall in North America, and is a big attraction especially in the spring when the water flow is at its peak. The valley is renowned for its natural beauty, and is widely regarded as the centerpiece of Yosemite National Park, attracting visitors from around the world.
- Drive up to Glacier Point, one of the best high-elevation viewpoints in the Sierra Nevada mountain range. This spectacular look-out point is located on the south wall of Yosemite Valley at an elevation of 7,214 feet (2,199 m), 3,200 feet (980 m) above Curry Village, but the road is a slow winding drive and always closed in winter and early spring. This magnificent vista point offers sweeping views of Yosemite National Park's, Yosemite Valley and Yosemite Falls, Vernal Fall, Nevada Fall, Half Dome, Clark Ranges, and Clouds Rest.
- You don’t have to travel any further to marvel at these ancient and giant trees. They are right here in Yosemite National Park. There are three groves of ancient giant sequoias in Yosemite National Park, which includes Mariposa Grove near the park's South Entrance, where some sequoias are over 2,500 years old. There are two other groves in the park; the Tuolumne and Merced Groves of giant sequoias located near Crane Flat area off highway 120. These trees are unique in every way and cannot be found anywhere else in the world.
